Head Chef - Backcountry snowmobile lodge in Malakwa BC

Carl Kuster Mountain Park is one of Canadas premier backcountry snowmobile destinations, hosting guests from around the world for unforgettable mountain experience. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef for the upcoming 2026-2027 winter season.

Position Overview

The Chef is responsible for planning and preparing high-quality meals for guests, while managing all kitchen operations. This is a hands-on role in a somewhat remote mountain lodge environment where teamwork, organization, and a positive attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, après-snow snacks, and dinner service
Create varied and appealing weekly menus
Accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies
Manage food ordering, inventory, and cost control
Lead and mentor kitchen staff
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety
Ensure an exceptional dining experience for guests
Work collaboratively with lodge management and other departments

Qualifications

Professional cooking or chef experience
Experience leading a kitchen team
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain)
Comfortable living and working in a remote lodge environment
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Experience in hospitality, resorts, lodges, or camps is an asset
