We are currently looking for a Afternoon Shift Warehouse Supervisor to join our amazing team.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Operations Manager this role is responsible for leading the efficient and effective day to day operation of the shipping and receiving functions within a Unionized environment.
This role is accountable for getting the day's Operations off to a good start acting as the floor general. This position is primarily a day time position but there will be times that the day shift supervisor will have to cover the evening shift supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including: receiving, put away, determining storage space requirements for inbound shipments
- Determining priorities, assigning work, developing warehouse procedures, supervising loading, and unloading operations, and updating records.
- Verifying U.S. loads and the associated paperwork
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures
- Assigns employees to complete warehouse operations requirements; follows up on work results.
- Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.
- Participate in company safety initiatives and meetings
- Ensure all material hander and warehouse employees are properly trained and have refresher training on operating material handling as required by law.
- A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Supervise and direct a unionized workforce primarily on the day shift.
- Maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
- Available to work extended hours, especially during seasonality peaks.

- Ability to ensure the job is completed within assigned timelines; holding yourself and others accountable for the expectations.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to manage and prioritize work.

- Experience in working with Unions

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Post-Secondary education preferred
- 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity
- Strong Computer, WHMS (via handheld computer scanners), Outlook and knowledge of ERP systems (SAGE X3, SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, etc.)experience is considered an asset

The job will be performed in a shared office and on the warehouse floor with work around warehouse machines and equipment with a moderate level of noise.
