Qualifications
Education
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
- Valid Certificate of Qualification in a recognized trade (Electrician, Plumber, Millwright, HVAC, etc.)
- Power Engineer (3rd or 4th Class) certification considered a strong asset
- Additional certifications (Working at Heights, Confined Space, Gas License) are assets
Experience
- 3–5 years of post-apprenticeship experience
- Experience in a healthcare or complex facility environment is an asset
- Multi-trade exposure or cross-functional experience is highly valued
Skills and Traits
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across building systems
- Solid understanding of applicable codes and regulations (CSA, ESA, TSS)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Mechanical / HVAC / Plumbing: Maintain and troubleshoot heating, cooling, water, and gas systems
- Electrical: Support power distribution, life safety, and critical systems
- Millwrighting: Maintain and repair mechanical equipment and infrastructure
- Carpentry: Complete repairs, renovations, and facility improvements
- Power Engineering: Operate and maintain plant systems and utilities
- General Support: Assist with maintenance, relocations, and projects across the hospital
