We view technology as our primary strategic differentiator. We are looking for a visionary, highly technical IT lead who can bridge the gap between complex business problems and enterprise-grade solution architecture.
The Role
This high-impact, hybrid position commands a unique spectrum of capabilities spanning from technology leadership right down to hands-on development. You are a strategic partner to the business. Your mission is to be embedded in the operations, deeply understand our business flows, challenge assumptions constructively, and deliver solutions that are significantly better than what stakeholders initially envisioned.
You will own the lifecycle of our core ecosystem, manage our cloud-based infrastructure, collaborate with external subject matter experts, and establish a culture of high-velocity development by fully leveraging AI and empowering junior talent.
Core Responsibilities
1. Business Technology Strategy
- Proactive Engagement: Embed yourself within the operations of various business units to deeply understand friction points, operational workflows, and automation opportunities.
- Value-Driven Design: Analyze root business problems, challenge legacy thinking, and propose elegant, alternative solutions that drive higher user productivity. Stay actively aware of industry trends and emerging technology shifts within food manufacturing and distribution.
- Architectural Excellence: Design and advocate for systems anchored in modern design best practices that directly enable technology scalability and business agility.
2. Hands-On Development & AI Acceleration
- Full-Stack & ERP Mastery: Act as the lead developer, maintaining and scaling our custom MERN stack applications, as well as module customizations, backend architecture (Python), and frontend views (XML/JavaScript) within the ERP ecosystem.
- AI-Accelerated Development: Demonstrate mastery in fully leveraging advanced AI coding assistants, prompt engineering, and automated testing tools to achieve a 10x acceleration in development velocity.
3. Infrastructure, Incident, & Vendor Management
- Infrastructure Oversight: Supervise and maintain the group’s hardware, network reliability, and cloud architecture across multiple sites to ensure data integrity and security.
- Incident Response & Support: Act as the main escalation point for critical IT-related incidents, troubleshooting efficiently while maintaining a "service-first" culture for our teams.
- Vendor Governance: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for external IT vendors, contractors, and specialized consultants, ensuring external projects are delivered securely, on time, and within budget.
4. Leadership & Mentorship
- Talent Cultivation: Lead, mentor, and coach co-op students and junior developers brought in to accelerate our development pipeline. Establish high-quality code review standards and empower them to deliver meaningful business impact.
Skills & Requirements
- Mindset: A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who enjoys balancing high-level strategic discussions with deep-dive coding sessions.
- Technical Stack:
- Expert-level knowledge of the MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
- Deep proficiency in Python and standard object-oriented enterprise frameworks.
- Mastery of RESTful API design, integration patterns, and GitHub workflow strategies.
- Experience Profile:
- Proven track record in project management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated history of designing scalable systems that allow a business to grow without compounding administrative overhead.
- Strong familiarity with managing underlying IT infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud environments).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the unique ability to challenge business stakeholders constructively while building immediate trust.
- Languages: Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is considered a significant asset for seamless internal stakeholder collaboration across our business units.
Pay: $78,000.00 per year
