Job Description:
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful candidate for the role should have a solid background in data engineering or programming field, as this role is expected to own the issues in an end-to-end fashion while working closely with Data Engineer to resolve issues.
- Ability to be hands on with data development work, including but not limited to data profiling to identify correct data elements, development of data pipelines, perform data load.
- Ability to summarize and communicate issues/updates in simple and summarized view while maintaining the technical depth to drill down individual issues when asked.
- Act as the POD owner delegate to provide overall POD leadership, refine backlog items and assign issues to POD member when required .
- Able to communicate effectively both upstream and downstream to both data providers and business requirement stakeholders.
- Understanding of existing TD data infrastructure would be considered an asset.
CUSTOMER
- Lead on complex analysis in an evolving data environment
- Gather, analyze, document and maintain all data requirements related to the business applications, interfaces, and reporting environments in different kinds of data maps
- Apply standards and best practices to ensure that the application’s data is accurate, complete, current, understandable, and accessible
- Work with data owners to define and manage data dictionary / catalog for respective data platforms, systems / servers / applications
- Flow to advice on efforts of data modelers, data warehouse/data integration developers, and data management process in data lakes, database usage and data warehousing
- Adopt, maintain and enhance Enterprise Data Governance related policies, in alignment with TD's Enterprise standards
- Provide thought leadership and insights on emerging data information management solutions and/or frameworks
- Ensure respective programs / policies / practices are well managed, meet business needs, comply with internal and external requirements, and align with business priorities
- Provide leadership in cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as a top expert, helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations across multiple domains
- Keep updated on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
SHAREHOLDER
- Collaborate with technology and business teams to ensure alignment and guide successful delivery of data solutions.
- Facilitate data analysis and investigations for business users and QA teams, assisting with complex issues and validating business cases during development and testing phases
- Provide oversight on business impact post-implementation, ensuring the data solution meets the intended business outcomes during the warranty period.
- Coordinate business requirements with technical teams with an oversight of ensuring smooth integration of data into source code repositories and promoting effective source code management practices.
- Lead or participate in business and technical design reviews, ensuring that data architectures meet both operational and business objectives.
- Raise and manage change requests in collaboration with business stakeholders, supporting release management processes and ensuring timely delivery.
- Lead initiatives on data governance and data management by ensuring business requirements align with enterprise data governance policies.
- Ensure business metadata and data lineage are well-documented and integrated with enterprise metadata management tools, facilitating better business understanding.
- Adhere to and promote best practices for data security, ensuring both technical and business aspects are protected from common vulnerabilities.
- Document business requirements and technical decisions, ensuring risks, lessons learned, and enhancement opportunities are communicated effectively across teams.
- Safeguard the organization's interests, identifying and managing business risks, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Stay current on industry trends, expanding knowledge of business processes, data tools, and best practices to improve collaboration between business and technology teams.
- Enable cross-functional collaboration, sharing knowledge and best practices between business users and technology teams to enhance overall project success.

BREADTH & DEPTH:
- Highly seasoned professional role requiring substantial knowledge / expertise in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas
- Requires master level conceptual expertise and knowledge for own area of specialty / domain and knowledge of broader related areas
- Primary subject matter expert in multiple areas and consults with clients/or project teams with respect to all aspects of business information management processes and procedures
- Expert level analytical and problem-solving skills and fluent in multiple programming languages
- Works autonomously as a senior/lead on a diverse range of tasks and is relied upon to coach/ educate others
- Manages and directs activities related to analysis, design and support of business information management solutions
- In-depth expertise or experience with big data solutions and familiarity with big data technologies
- Keep abreast of rapid business and technology innovation within business information management field
- Familiar with visualization tools
- Generally reports to a Senior Manager or Executive
EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate and/or
- 5+ years of relevant experience from a statistical, mathematical, engineering or software development background
