To support our rapid growth, we are seeking an exceptional Lead Product Designer – Mobile & Cloud Platforms to lead the product strategy, user experience, and design vision for SGA's next generation of AI-powered software platforms. This role will help shape products that transform how customers interact with AI, geospatial technologies, cloud services, drones, and mobile applications.

Compensation & Growth
- Salary: CAD $120,000–$180,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

After 12 months of continuous full-time employment, employee performance and long-term contributions will be formally evaluated. The Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Product Designer – Mobile & Cloud Platforms to lead the end-to-end product experience for SGA's AI-powered web, mobile, cloud, and drone applications.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines product strategy, customer discovery, UX research, interaction design, visual design, and selected product management responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership, AI researchers, software engineers, and customers to transform complex technologies into intuitive, elegant, and commercially successful software products.
Beyond leading product design, you will help define product vision, validate customer requirements, prioritize product roadmaps, and guide products from concept through commercialization. As SGA continues to grow, this role is expected to evolve into broader product and design leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Design Leadership
- Define and evolve the product vision, user experience strategy, and long-term roadmap for SGA's AI-powered mobile and cloud platforms.
- Translate customer needs, business objectives, and emerging technologies into innovative software products and intuitive user experiences.
- Conduct customer discovery, workflow analysis, usability research, competitive analysis, and market validation.
- Prioritize features by balancing customer value, technical feasibility, business impact, and development effort.
- Partner with executive leadership to shape product direction, commercialization strategy, and long-term product growth.
User Experience & Product Design
- Lead the UX strategy and visual design for web, mobile, drone, and enterprise applications.
- Design intuitive workflows that simplify complex AI-powered software.
- Create user journeys, personas, information architecture, user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity user interfaces.
- Design modern, responsive, accessible, and visually engaging interfaces that maximize usability, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Establish reusable interaction patterns and ensure consistency across multiple products.
Design System
- Build and maintain SGA's enterprise design system.
- Define reusable UI components, typography, color systems, icons, interaction patterns, and accessibility standards.
- Establish scalable design principles and guidelines across all SGA software products.
Product Planning & Delivery
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define product requirements, user stories, workflows, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Translate customer requirements into developer-ready design specifications and interactive prototypes.
- Participate in product roadmap planning, Agile sprint planning, feature prioritization, and release planning.
- Define product success metrics and continuously improve products using customer feedback, usability testing, analytics, and business performance metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with executive leadership, AI researchers, software engineers, QA engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate implementation of designs throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Support product launches and continuous product improvement.
- Promote a customer-first and design-driven culture across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Product Design, UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience designing and delivering commercial mobile, web, cloud, drone, or enterprise software products from concept through commercialization.
- Proven experience leading the end-to-end product design of enterprise software, SaaS platforms, cloud applications, mobile applications, or other commercial software products.
- Demonstrated product thinking with the ability to translate customer needs, business objectives, and market opportunities into intuitive, commercially successful software products.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX strategy, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, design systems, and user-centered problem solving.
- Expert proficiency with Figma, modern design systems, interactive prototyping, and collaborative design workflows.
- Experience designing data-intensive enterprise software, dashboards, Web GIS or mapping applications, workflow-driven systems, or other complex software platforms.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design, accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, usability best practices, and modern UI design principles.
- Experience conducting customer interviews, user research, workflow analysis, usability testing, competitive analysis, and product validation.
- Experience defining product requirements, user stories, workflows, feature specifications, acceptance criteria, and developer-ready design documentation, while collaborating closely with software engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and visual storytelling skills, with the ability to work effectively with executives, customers, designers, and software engineers.
- Proven experience using AI-assisted design and productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Figma AI, Adobe Firefly, Cursor, or similar) to improve creativity, design quality, prototyping, documentation, and development efficiency.
