Binnie is looking for a Senior Project Controller, to join our Transportation Major Projects Division, which provides Owner’s Engineer and Project Delivery services for the design, procurement and construction of major infrastructure projects in British Columbia. This is a full-time position available in our Burnaby Office, located near scenic Deer Lake.
Our recent projects include the Patullo Bridge Replacement Project, Fraser River Tunnel Project, and Steveston Interchange Project.
You will work with our experienced Senior Project Managers and our talented engineering team to ensure we meet our clients’ needs. This is an excellent opportunity for advancement.
YOUR ROLE:
- Act as the primary point of contact for project controls functions on assigned projects, coordinating with stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and internal support teams
- Lead project controls activities on projects, providing guidance, oversight, and technical expertise
- Develop, implement, and maintain project controls frameworks, procedures, reporting tools, and performance monitoring systems
- Provide project managers and senior leadership with forecasting insights, analysis, and reporting to support informed decision-making
- Facilitate project controls coordination meetings, reporting cycles, and governance reviews to ensure visibility, alignment, and accountability
- Oversee and review outputs from document controllers, cost controllers, and schedule controllers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality
- Conduct project performance analysis and quality control/assurance reviews to ensure integrity of project data and reporting
- Contribute to the delivery of major projects as part of the Owner’s Engineer/project delivery team through effective project controls
- Ensure project controls deliverables meet organizational quality standards and client expectations
- Integrate into client reporting systems and project teams to provide project controls expertise and support overall project delivery
- Proactively support clients by anticipating project controls needs, identifying risks, and recommending solutions
- Establish and maintain project baselines (cost, schedule, and scope) to enable effective performance tracking and forecasting
- Manage and track change control processes, including assessing impacts to scope, cost, and schedule
- Review and analyze project schedules and cost performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
WHAT YOU BRING:
- A minimum of 10 years of related technical experience and project controls, project management, cost control, scheduling, risk management, or project delivery experience in a civil engineering or construction environment
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated expertise in establishing, implementing, and managing integrated project controls systems.
- Proficiency with industry-standard project controls tools and software.
- Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, including Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, Alliance, and other alternative delivery models
- Experience working within complex, multidisciplinary project environments, including collaboration with clients, consultants, and contractors
- Positive, proactive, and dependable approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and client service
- Demonstrated team management and delegation skills
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and stakeholder management capabilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $107,000 - $144,000 annually. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
