Job Title: Full Stack Software Engineer

Location: Waterloo, ON

Job Type: Full Time, Contract

Expected hours per week: 40

Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm

Pay: $77-85/hr

Job Description:
About the Role
We’re seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-quality software applications that meet real customer needs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the full development lifecycle—from architecture and coding to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver user-centric solutions
Design and develop full-stack applications (front-end UI and back-end services/APIs)
Create scalable software architecture and determine appropriate technology stacks
Build, test, and deploy applications using modern development practices (Agile, CI/CD, TDD)
Partner with cross-functional teams including product, design, and architecture
Establish and execute testing strategies to ensure high-quality deliverables
Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability
Implement secure coding practices to protect user data (encryption, anonymization, etc.)
Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve development efficiency

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
6+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years in software development
Hands-on experience with at least 2 programming languages (or deep expertise in one)
Experience building full-stack applications (UI + back-end services/APIs)
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and architecture design
Experience with Agile methodologies and modern development practices (CI/CD, TDD)
