Position Summary
Morskate Manufacturing is expanding in a big way! We're adding 90,000+ sq. ft. to our facility and investing in exciting new technology as we continue to grow. With this expansion comes an exciting opportunity—we're looking for an experienced Labourer/Machine Operator to join our collaborative team.
Reporting to the shop supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting in daily shop operations, operating machinery, and supporting production teams to ensure efficient workflow. Your attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and commitment to safety will play a key role in helping us maintain the high-quality standards we’re known for.

Responsibilities/Tasks
- Maintain excellent attendance record
- Interpret drawings and sketches to determine measurements
- Must be able to set up basic fabrication
- Accurate use of tape measure, square, levels, angle finder and other measuring tools related to specific area (in both Metric & Imperial)
- Operate basic hand tools i.e. drills, grinders, etc.
- Operate shop equipment i.e. drill press, ironworker, punch, shear, brake, blasting machine, saw, etc. as required and as trained to do so
- Safe operation of overhead crane and mobile equipment for material movement as required
- Maintain and perform basic servicing of machines as required per pre-use inspection check sheets
- Perform housekeeping duties as required

Requirements/Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, procedures and practices
- Knowledge of materials and basic understanding of metals
- Good with numbers in regards to accurate measurements, checking drawings, counting parts and calculating weights
- Experience with laser cutting considered an asset
- Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs. and be on feet for long periods of time
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Possess problem solving skills
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English clearly

We offer competitive starting wages beginning at $23.00 - $28.00 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience, skill level, and how well you align with the role. We appreciate dedication and commitment, and we conduct thorough performance reviews after three months and annually to acknowledge outstanding work and support employee growth.
