Position Summary
The Student Recruitment and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for promoting Maritime Business College programs and services, supporting student recruitment initiatives, and assisting prospective students throughout the enrollment process. The position develops and implements recruitment and marketing strategies, conducts outreach activities, delivers presentations, builds community partnerships, and supports institutional branding efforts to achieve enrollment objectives in accordance with the Nova Scotia Private Career Colleges Act and Regulations.
Student Recruitment, Enrollment & Sales Performance
- Respond to inquiries from prospective students by phone, email, online platforms, and in person.
- Conduct campus tours, information sessions, and program presentations for prospective students and visitors.
- Develop and implement student recruitment strategies to achieve enrollment targets.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, community organizations, employers, and referral partners.
- Participate in recruitment events, career fairs, high school visits, open houses, and community outreach activities.
- Maintain ongoing communication and follow-up with prospective students throughout the admissions process.
- Track recruitment activities and enrollment outcomes using student information and customer relationship management (Campus Login) system.
- Achieve individual and departmental monthly, quarterly, and annual enrollment targets as established by the College.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified leads through prospecting, referrals, community engagement, and outreach initiatives.
- Manage the full admissions sales cycle, from initial inquiry through enrollment and orientation.
- Conduct timely and effective follow-up with prospective students to maximize inquiry-to-enrollment conversion rates.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including lead generation, appointments scheduled, campus tours conducted, applications received, enrollments completed, conversion rates, and student retention outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment effectiveness, conversion performance, and student enrollment growth.
- Collaborate with marketing staff to support lead-generation campaigns and evaluate campaign effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activities, communications, and enrollment outcomes to support reporting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to the achievement of overall campus growth objectives through proactive recruitment, relationship management, and student-centered admissions practices.
Marketing & Communications
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and promotional campaigns to increase program awareness and student enrollment.
- Coordinate outreach initiatives utilizing digital marketing, social media, email marketing, print materials, and community engagement activities.
- Support the creation and distribution of marketing content that aligns with institutional branding standards.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to promote programs, student success stories, and institutional initiatives.
- Monitor recruitment and marketing trends within the post-secondary education sector and recommend innovative outreach strategies.
- Assist with website content updates and promotional communications as required.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with schools, employment agencies, community organizations, and industry partners.
- Represent the College at external events and networking opportunities.
- Promote the College's programs, services, and career opportunities within the community.
- Support initiatives that enhance the College's visibility and reputation.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and confidential student recruitment records in accordance with institutional policies and applicable privacy legislation.
- Prepare reports related to recruitment activities, marketing initiatives, lead conversion rates, and enrollment outcomes.
- Assist with audits, inspections, and reporting requirements under the Nova Scotia Private Career Colleges Act.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and institutional initiatives.
- Support institutional compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Education, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Relevant marketing or recruitment certifications are considered assets.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, marketing, sales, public relations, community outreach, or a related field.
- Experience working in a post-secondary or private career college environment is preferred.
- Experience coordinating recruitment events and marketing campaigns is considered an asset.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of student recruitment and enrollment management practices.
- Understanding of marketing principles, digital marketing platforms, and community outreach strategies.
- Strong presentation, public speaking, and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with prospective students, educational partners, and community stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and student information systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate recruitment and marketing data.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
Working Conditions
- Office-based environment with frequent interaction with prospective students, parents, community partners, and external stakeholders.
- Regular travel within the community may be required for recruitment events, presentations, and outreach activities.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support recruitment events, career fairs, and open houses.
