Data-Driven Category Management

As the Category Management Analyst, you will support the Merchandise teams with the development and execution of detailed category management plans. Led by Manager, Category Management, Planning and Programs, this opportunity will best suit someone who has strong analytical and organizational skills.

Please note this is a 12-month term position.

Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how:

Gather and input data; build, analyze and distribute reports and Dealer surveys to strengthen merchandise decisions and meet financial goals and objectives. Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of internal data including sales, inventory, and pricing data, and external industry, market, channel, and economic data.
Schedule and coordinate all activities related to the line review/negotiation process. Including key meetings, survey schedules, and category/negotiation launch schedules.
Support the accountability of the LBM negotiations and HL Category reviews line commitments through meeting with the specific merchant and cross functional teams at key points in the Gantt chart to ensure negotiations/reviews are on track. Report any delays or risks to schedule to the Manager of Category Management and appropriate Merchandise Director. Provide any relevant updates in the weekly cross functional update meeting.
Build knowledge of category management processes; understand key stakeholders both internally and externally and their involvement in the process.
Provide process support with activities including but not limited to Imports, Private brands, Quality Management and After-Sales service.
Assist with tactical insight recommendations to capitalize on opportunities to improve category performance.
Collaborate with the Merchandise Managers to populate standardized category templates supporting the ongoing line reviews and annual category management reviews to help drive actionable insights.

We’re looking for:

Diploma in Business, Math or Data Analytics and 3-5 years of experience.
Strong analytical and process skills.
Organizational agility, strategic acumen and comfort with ambiguity.
Analytical and computer skills and be familiar with Excel, Access and Microsoft Power BI.
The successful candidate will have comfort with project and process management.
Strong interpersonal skills are required, including being able to effectively communicate and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Category management/business analysis, synthesize information to develop understanding and insights
The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
