The role
The successful candidate will have a proven history of leading teams to deliver enterprise software within an on-premise model. The candidate will have experience collaborating with team leads, designers, product managers, quality control, documentation, and marketing team members to deliver high quality software features that exceed the expectations of the market.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
-
Lead the design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing support of enterprise applications in an on-premise environment.

Establish and maintain development standards, processes and documentation practices, including source control, code management and knowledge sharing.

Apply modern development practices, including Agile approaches, to improve quality, consistency and delivery outcomes.

Maintain a secure development environment by ensuring applications and processes support data privacy, security and operational reliability.
Team Leadership

Hire, coach and develop a high-performing team of developers and systems and database specialists.

Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews and support ongoing growth and accountability across the team.

Promote cross-training and collaboration to strengthen team resiliency, continuity and shared ownership.

Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture that aligns with Edge’s values and supports strong working relationships.
Stakeholder Partnership
-
Partner with business leaders, users and cross-functional teams to understand priorities and translate business needs into clear development plans.

Lead requirements discussions, communicate scope, timelines and trade-offs clearly, and support informed decision-making across technical and non-technical audiences.

Support user acceptance testing, implementation readiness and post-launch feedback to help ensure solutions meet agreed business requirements.
Delivery & Operational Excellence

Own delivery plans and execution timelines, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget and with regular visibility for leadership.

Track performance against key delivery objectives and continuously improve processes to support efficient, high-quality outcomes.

Contribute as a hands-on leader when needed, with the ability to engage in coding, documentation, testing and deployment activities.

Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team priorities and business objectives.
What we’re looking for
-
Bring a college or university degree in computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Have 5–10 years of hands-on experience in software development
-
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PHP, CodeIgniter, Laravel, Python considered an asset

Bring 3–5 years of experience leading or managing teams

Demonstrate a strong understanding of web technologies and the ability to apply technical knowledge to practical business needs.

Translate business requirements into clear priorities and solutions while working effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

Use sound analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Communicate clearly, build strong working relationships and operate effectively both independently and as part of a team.
