Family Law Clerk (Remote – Ontario)

Taerk Family Law

Taerk Family Law is a growing boutique law firm dedicated exclusively to family law. We are committed to delivering exceptional legal representation while fostering a collaborative, supportive, and respectful workplace.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Family Law Clerk to join our team in a fully remote position. Family law experience is an asset, but we also welcome applications from exceptional graduates of an accredited Law Clerk program who are eager to build a long-term career in family law.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with our lawyers and assist with all aspects of family law matters, including:

Preparing court forms, affidavits, financial statements, briefs, and other legal documents.
Drafting correspondence and routine legal documents.
Organizing and maintaining electronic client files.
Reviewing and organizing financial disclosure.
Preparing and filing court materials electronically while ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third parties.
Scheduling client meetings, mediations, examinations, and court attendances.
Assisting with file management, trial preparation, and other legal support as required.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Law Clerk program.
Family law experience is preferred, with approximately one year of experience considered an asset.
Exceptional new graduates with a demonstrated interest in family law are encouraged to apply.
Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently in a remote environment.
Professional, dependable, and committed to providing outstanding client service.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with DivorceMate, ACL, Case Center, or other family law software is an asset.
