Full job description

Role Mission

Eco Lighting & Electrical is an independent supplier and distributor of premium LED lighting and electrical products, control systems, and distribution systems, serving commercial, industrial, residential, and horticultural applications.

We're growing, and looking to add an Inside Sales & Customer Service Representative to our team — the most sales- and service-focused role we've built to date. This role will focus primarily on our wholesale supply business and reports to the Sales Manager. This person will be the frontline ambassador for our company, and the first point of contact for our clients, supporting the sales process from initial inquiry through order fulfillment, with administrative responsibilities that keep our client and inventory records accurate.

Compensation for this role includes a base salary plus performance-based commission — the more you grow your book of business, the more you earn.

What We Need From You

Sales & Client Relationship Management

Act as the first point of contact for clients, ensuring timely service and consultative solutions
Update and maintain customer records in our CRM (HubSpot) and other business systems
Assist in preparing quotations and proposals; pull and ship customer orders; manage client order workflow
Serve as primary point of contact for walk-in and counter sales
Build and maintain strong technical and product knowledge to best serve customers
Conduct needs assessments to recommend solutions that align with client requirements, conducting needs assessments to recommend solutions that fit each client's requirements
Handle general office errands and occasional delivery of client orders — Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle required
Attend industry trade shows and provide on-site support as needed

Administrative Support

Assist with documentation and report generation, including meeting minutes, data entry, and KPI reporting
Update and maintain accurate records within our accounting system (QuickBooks), including client records, statements, and accounts receivable
Support Purchasing & Operations by conducting cycle counts, identifying inventory requirements, and flagging needs to the Purchasing Manager
Learn and work within our core business systems: Cin7, HubSpot, Jobber, and QuickBooks

Qualifications & Who We're Looking For

Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales-focused role is required (e.g., retail sales, automotive service advisor, electronics or apparel sales) — this is a consultative sales position, not a high-volume checkout/cashier role, so experience limited to scanning or transaction processing (e.g., grocery or big-box checkout) will not meet this requirement
Experience with an electrical wholesale distributor or similar industry is an asset
Coachable and eager to learn — no prior industry (lighting/electrical) experience required, but a genuine willingness to be trained on our process and product line
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to handle high-volume workloads and maintain attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships
A self-starter with the discipline to meet deadlines with minimal oversight — this role rewards self-driven performance, with a commission component tied directly to individual results
Comfortable learning new software systems; prior experience with CRM, marketing, or accounting software is an asset but not required
Basic understanding of inventory, warehousing, or stocking procedures is an asset
Class 5 license and access to a reliable vehicle required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Pay: $48,500.00-$58,500.00 per year
