Role Summary:
Our Calgary Branch is looking for a experienced and motivated Kitchen Suppression Technician who is currently based in Calgary to join our Vipond Calgary team. This field-based role focuses on inspecting, servicing, and installing commercial kitchen fire suppression systems for a wide range of customers across the region. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who values independence, technical work, and strong customer relationships within the fire protection industry.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of commercial kitchen suppression systems in accordance with NFPA standards and Alberta Fire Code.
- Install new kitchen suppression systems and complete system upgrades as required.
- Complete all service reports, deficiency notes, and documentation accurately while on-site.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to customers in a clear and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and ensure tools and equipment are in proper working order.
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices while working in the field.
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have Kitchen Suppression System Inspection Ticket or equivalent
- Experience working with kitchen suppression systems (ANSUL, Pyro-Chem, Kidde, etc.) is preferred.
- Knowledge of NFPA 17A, NFPA 96, and relevant Alberta Fire Code requirements.
- Valid Alberta driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service routes.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Physically able to lift and move equipment as required.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds as required.
