The Town of New Tecumseth is looking for 3 Inclusion Facilitators to join our team for the 2026 summer season.

Under the guidance and direction of the Coordinator, Inclusion and Community Development, Inclusion Facilitators are responsible for providing support to individuals with physical, developmental and/or emotional/behavioural disabilities focusing on integrating into the day camp/recreation program. This position ensures the safety and wellbeing of the participants in their care at various locations, communicating any concerns to the direct supervisor.
How you contribute to our organization:
- Provide 1-1 support and supervision to participants with disabilities.
- Provide personal care to participants including support feeding, toileting, administering authorized medication and noting details on appropriate forms, as needed.
- Provide crisis support and responds to behavioural issues in accordance with Behavioural Management Systems methodologies.
- Advocate, encourage and promote an inclusive environment.
- Plan, implement and supervise day camp programming for children in accordance with HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development
- Create, adapt and implement program modifications, as needed.
- Ensure safety on the site while carrying out activities.
What you bring to the team:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years or older by hire date.
- Requires Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification.
- Ability to submit a clean Vulnerable Sector Check upon hire.
- High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development and Non-violent Crisis Intervention or Behaviour Management Systems is preferred.
- Completion of Leader-in-Training (LIT) and/or Counsellor-in-Training (CIT) programs is preferred.
- Requires at least 6 months – 1 year’ experience working with children with disabilities/special needs, preferably in a camp environment.
- Experience in working 6 months - 1 year’ in a recreational/camp environment is an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both written and verbal communication.
- Commitment to providing a socially inclusive environment, responding with sensitivity to the diverse needs of others.
- Camp operations are 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Monday to Friday, from June 29th – September 2nd.
- Staff training will take place in the evenings and on weekends throughout June. Attendance at these training sessions is mandatory.
- This position is expected to work daytime, some evenings, and holiday as scheduled.

- Position begins May 29th.
- Mandatory Staff Training – throughout the month of June
- Summer Staff Kick-Off Meeting – May 29th
- All Camp Staff SCRA Training – May 30th
- Canada Day Event – July 1st
- Camps Begins – The week following the end of school
- Camps Ends – The Friday before the Labour Day holiday
Wage: $18.07 - $19.92, plus 4% vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan
Hours: Up to 35 hours throughout June for training (weekends and evenings)
Up to 40 hours per week from June 29th – September 2nd.
Location: New Tecumseth Recreation Centre (7300 Industrial Pkwy, Alliston) and Tottenham Community Fitness Centre (139 Queen St. N., Tottenham)
Dates: May 29th, 2026 – September 2nd, 2026.
