Position: Care Companion

Pay Rate: $18/hour

Schedule: 12-hour shifts | Casual | Day and Night Shifts

Key Responsibilities:

Provide companionship and emotional support to residents through conversation and presence
Monitor and supervise residents consistently, ensuring their safety and well-being
Escort residents within the facility, assist with mobility, and offer comfort when needed
Maintain awareness and report any concerns or incidents affecting resident safety
Intervene as appropriate to prevent harm and support de-escalation when required
Support privacy, dignity, and a positive living environment for all residents

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
NVCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) Certification – Required
Strong observation and communication skills
Calm, adaptable demeanor and quick decision-making in high-pressure situations
Experience working with seniors or in geriatric care is an asset
CCA and LPN students are welcome to apply
Former CCA professionals will also be considered
Additional training in crisis prevention or behavioral support is an advantage
