Door Hardware Technician/ Locksmith

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Door Hardware Technician/Locksmith to join our Service Department.

Responsibilities:

Attend service calls, trouble shoot issues, and provide solutions to customers (working with other departments as required)
Provide excellent customer service on behalf of the company
Install, service, and repair commercial door hardware
Install, service, and repair automatic door operators
Install, service, and repair hollow metal and wooden doors
Install, service, and repair electro-mechanical hardware
Lock installation, service, and re-keying
Complete and submit documentation as required
Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Must possess a valid Ontario G class driver’s license
Must have a clean driving record
Must have a safe place to park a company vehicle overnight
Must have a clean criminal record
Must be familiar with the GTA
Must be computer literate and able to learn new software
Must provide your own basic tools (specialty tools are provided by the company)
Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Must have excellent customer service skills
Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
Must have above-average technical/mechanical skills
Must have strong problem-solving skills
Must be willing to attend trainings and enjoy learning new skills and technologies
Must be trustworthy and dependable
Must have great attention to detail

Experience:

Experience as a Locksmith / Door Hardware Technician.

Education:

Industry related certificates are considered a bonus

Job Type:

Permanent
Full Time (40 hours per week)

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Working Conditions:

Travel to various customer sites across the GTA (industrial, commercial, construction sites, etc.), coming to the office/warehouse when necessary
Must be able to walk, climb, stand, lift, and bend repeatedly
Some lifting of heavy equipment or materials (with a partner)

Location:

ABC Security’s offices and warehouses are located at 55 Queens Plate Drive, Etobicoke, ON M9W 6P2. However, technicians mainly work at client locations.

5 paid personal days per year
Company provided uniform shirt, coats, and hat, plus a reimbursement of up to $200.00 per year for other uniform expenses (pants, safety boots)
