REMUNERATION, BENEFITS, HOURS
- Salary ranges from $43,000 to $50,000 and will depend on experience, skills, and expertise

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Immigration experience or knowledge. Prior experience in a Canadian immigration practice environment is mandatory, primarily so that you can understand client enquiries and invoicing content. One or more years of immigration assistant experience is preferred. This experience must be legally and ethically acquired.
- Exceptional professional English, both written and verbal, is required.
- Strong arithmetic and proofreading skills are necessary.
- Mandarin fluency is not required but is preferred.
- Client experience is central to our practice. You should be someone who is highly responsive: you can walk into a room (or pick up a phone), engage naturally, think on your feet, and communicate with professional clarity and warmth. You ask questions, you listen actively, and you respond thoughtfully. If frequent human interaction feels draining or something to avoid, this role will not be a good fit.
- High ethical standards consistent with those expected by the Law Society of British Columbia.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong reliability and follow-through. You take ownership of responsibilities, complete routine tasks without repeated reminders, and ensure important details do not fall through the cracks.
- Able to manage shifting priorities, deadlines, and interruptions without losing accuracy or professionalism.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing polished, professional documents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
A. MAJOR RECEPTION/ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
- Proofread grammar, punctuation, formatting, content.
- Day-to-day trust bookkeeping (e.g., receipts, pre-bills, invoices)
- Reception duties in-person, telephone, and email.
- Respond to telephone, email, and in-person enquiries and arrange consultations
- Perform clerical duties, such as mail processing, word processing, form filling, scanning and photocopying, and precise electronic document labelling and filing.
- Strictly maintain calendaring of general office deadlines, important dates, and BF system
- Engage actively and professionally with clients and colleagues, contributing to a communicative, responsive, and personable office culture.
- This role includes contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of a collaborative small firm environment, including routine shared office tasks such as kitchen upkeep, watering plants, organizing supplies, receiving deliveries, and occasional meal or supply pickup.
MINOR JUNIOR LEGAL ASSISTANT DUTIES
- Provide excellent client support, including gathering documents, preparing correspondence, and maintaining effective communication
- Prepare correspondence and gather necessary client information for immigration applications
- Draft simpler immigration, citizenship, and corollary applications for team and client review.
- The legal assistant support duties prepare you for a potential promotion to legal assistant after 2-4 years.
