Catholic Family Services of Peel-Dufferin (CFSPD) is a non-profit, charitable organization reflecting the values consistent with Catholic social teachings. Position Summary

The Outreach Assistant will support CFSPD’s outreach and community engagement initiatives during the summer term under the Canada Summer Jobs Program. This role is ideal for a motivated, community-minded individual interested in gaining hands-on experience in non-profit operations, outreach, and communications. The successful candidate will contribute to promoting CFSPD programs, supporting community events, and assisting with administrative and communications activities.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in promoting CFSPD’s programs and services to the community.
Represent CFSPD at local events, workshops, and outreach activities.
Contribute to the development of marketing materials and support social media efforts.
Deliver excellent customer service to clients, partners, and community members.
Support daily administrative functions and office operations.
Assist with photo and video shoots for communications and promotions.

Other

Assist with maintaining an orderly and welcoming office environment.
·Participate in agency fundraising activities as deemed appropriate and necessary by Senior Management.
Attend required agency activities and meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Interest in community outreach, non-profit work, or public relations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Experience with or interest in photography/videography is a plus.

Working Conditions

Responding to inquiries via in-person, telephone, and email communication.
Handling confidential and sensitive information.
Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Primarily office-based work environment with occasional community-based activities.

Eligibility (Canada Summer Jobs Program Requirements)

Applicants must:

Be between 15–30 years of age at the start of employment.
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada.
Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).

Please note: International students and individuals on temporary work, visitors, or youth visas are not eligible.

A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check may be required.

This position is based in Brampton and offers 35 hours per week at a rate of $18.50 per hour, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and other applicable Ontario legislation.
