The Role
We are hiring a full-time, year-round Lawn Care Technician who wants to grow with the business. Most technicians start working alongside the Operations Supervisor, learning the routes, the equipment, and the Augusta standard. As you build consistency and trust, the goal is to put you behind the wheel of your own truck running assigned company routes independently.
That progression is based on performance and reliability, not time served.

What This Role Looks Like
Hours and Schedule
- Full-time, in-person role based out of SE Calgary
- Dispatch at 7:30 AM from the shop
- Typically 4-5 days per week; heavier during peak season (May, June, September, October)
- Shifts run 8 to 10 hours, occasionally up to 12 when the work demands it
- Winter months shift to snow removal operations
We are transparent about Year 1: hours fluctuate with route volume. We are actively building the client base and there is always productive work on lighter days.
What You Will Be Doing
Spring through Fall
- Push mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing on residential properties
- Spring and fall cleanups including raking, hauling, and debris removal
- Aeration, overseeding, and lawn treatment application support
- Loading and unloading equipment at the start and end of each day
- Keeping the truck and equipment clean and organized
- On light route days: neighborhood marketing drops alongside the Operations Supervisor
- Learning Augusta's routes, client expectations, and service standards with the intent to eventually run them independently
Winter
- Residential snow removal operations including shoveling, snow blowing, and salting
- Loading and staging winter equipment
- Keeping routes clear and on schedule through the winter season
Requirements
- Previous experience in lawn care (mowing), landscaping, snow removal
- Strong work ethic and ability to handle physical outdoor work in all weather
- Reliable and punctual. 7:30 AM means 7:30 AM.
- Comfortable with long days when needed, occasionally up to 12 hours
- Availability for 4 to 5 days per week with early morning starts
- Reliable transportation to the shop
- Committed to a full year-round schedule including winter snow operations
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred
- Experience with commercial mowers, trimmers, blowers, or aerators
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract (opens up driving and route-lead opportunities later)
- Available for occasional Saturdays during peak season
- Interest in growing into a Lead Hand or Crew Lead role as the business scales
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to:
- Stand, walk, and work on your feet for 6 to 10 hours per shift, occasionally longer
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Operate commercial lawn care equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and aerators
- Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, and winter conditions throughout the year
Compensation
Base Pay
$20/hour base pay for every hour worked, plus performance-based pay. Technicians who work efficiently and maintain quality are rewarded for it. Hours will grow as the route grows.
