Full job description

Truman is seeking a Senior Estimator to support the administration of single-family and duplex home projects from project setup through pre-construction and construction.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple active files at once. The Senior Estimator plays a key role in keeping projects moving by coordinating documents, submissions, schedules, approvals, and follow-up across internal teams, consultants, suppliers, and field staff.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Managers to ensure projects are organized, accurate, and progressing on time.

Experience:

Implement systems, procedures and controls to ensure cost effective purchasing practices are in place.
Responsible for the preparation and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with budget, company policies and procedures.
Residential and Commercial construction knowledge is a must.
Must have at least 5 to 10 years of take-off packages, spreadsheet, New Star Constellation, MS Excel, MS Word, and Estimating packages.
Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
Liaise, consult and communicate, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Post-secondary education is required.

Job Description:

Oversee, guide and mentor a small team
Build and maintain estimates for both single family and multi-family projects within Excel, New Star or Project Site
Implement systems, procedures and controls to ensure cost effective purchasing practices are in place.
Responsible for the preparation and process documents in accordance with budget, company policies and procedures.
Single Family and Multi-family residential construction knowledge.
Commercial construction knowledge.
Experience:
Must have at least 5 to 10 years of take-off packages, spreadsheet, Fast and New Star Constellation, MS Excel, MS Word, and Estimating packages
Blue beam, AutoCad and Adobe
Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Liaise, consult and communicate, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Post-secondary education is a must.
Problem solving and decision making skills.
Self-motivated with attention to detail.
Must be able to work as a member of a greater team.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Good organizational and time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
Experience reviewing contracts an asset.
