Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.

Work Setting: In-office

Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic Human Resources team as a Human Resources Co-op Student (12-month term). In this position, you will play a key role in supporting HR Operations through system administration, data coordination, documentation preparation, and project support for HR modernization initiatives.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, an analytical mindset, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and an eagerness to learn. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR operations, systems, policies, programs, and cross-functional HR projects while contributing to meaningful work across the Human Resources function.

This position is based in our Calgary office and will report to the Team Lead, HR Systems & Operations.

Duration: January 11, 2027, to December 18, 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Support ongoing HR Operations system administration and data coordination, including data cleanup, reconciliation, and preparation of files and documentation for HR system implementation.
Assist with HR modernization initiatives, including administrative support, documentation, and process coordination for projects such as file room digitization.
Work closely with the HR team to coordinate and administer HR policies, programs, and procedures, including distributing key information and conducting research.
Participate in HR projects based on current initiatives and support year-round project needs across the Human Resources function.
Gain exposure to various Centers of Excellence within HR while supporting cross-functional collaboration and team priorities.
Perform general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

Must be enrolled in a Business Administration, Human Resources, or related post-secondary program with an accredited institution, ideally through a recognized co-op program.
Enrollment in your institution's co-op program is a requirement.
Preferred field of study is Human Resources, with an analytical mindset and interest in HR operations, systems, and process improvement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, with the ability to support data tracking, reporting, and document preparation.
Interest in people, HR programs, and contributing to inclusive, collaborative workplaces.
Approaches challenges with enthusiasm, curiosity, and an eagerness to learn.
A track record of delivering high-quality work, managing competing priorities, and supporting key business processes or operational functions.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

The expected pay range for this position is $23.55 to $31.59 CAD per hour.
