If you’re comfortable handling recurring accounting work, but you also want a role where you can learn, grow, and understand how the business actually operates — not just process transactions in isolation, this role may be a strong fit.

We’re looking for an Intermediate Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations across two growing healthcare organizations in Calgary: Access Orthopaedics and Gateway Surgery.

This role gives you exposure to:

Multi-entity accounting
Healthcare and clinic operations
Month-end close processes
Cash flow support and reporting
AP/AR ownership
Cloud-based accounting systems
Process improvement opportunities
A finance function that is actively evolving and becoming more sophisticated
You’ll work in a high-volume environment where details matter and where your work directly supports operational decision-making.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

You’ll own a variety of recurring accounting and reconciliation activities across both entities, including:

Bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
Jane EMR and Stripe payment reconciliations
Journal entries and transaction processing
AP and AR coordination
Vendor payments and expense processing through Dext and Plooto
Month-end close support
Working papers and reconciliation documentation
Cash flow tracking support
Multi-entity record accuracy and intercompany entries

Take ownership rather than waiting for direction
Enjoy understanding how operational activity flows through the financials
You do not need to know everything on day one. But curiosity, accountability, and attention to detail are important.

What You Bring:

Required:

4-5 years of accounting experience
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience using QBO or similar cloud-based accounting software
Strong Excel skills
Ability to manage recurring deadlines independently

Considered an Asset:

Healthcare or clinic accounting experience
Exposure to Jane App or Stripe reconciliations
Experience in a multi-entity environment
Familiarity with Dext or Plooto
CPA pursuit or enrolment
