- **SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED DOG HANDLER, WHO HAS WORKED IN A KENNEL ENVIRONMENT BEFORE. Must excel in a team environment.**
We are looking for a mature and responsible animal lover to join our dog handling team! Employees MUST be able to work well with others- this is an absolute priority.
We are a busy dog boarding business, with an open concept environment allowing all the dogs the opportunity to play in a "pack" setting. If you have a passion for dogs- and the confidence to guide dogs under your care- then Dogs at Camp could be a rewarding work environment for you!
We are looking to hire 1-2 new team members who have interest in working part time-full time hours; one person could be hired to work full time, or two people could be hired to work part time. This position may start with a part time workload, leading to full time- as we navigate the slower season and training. Typically, weekly workload is based off your preferred number of hours. We are open 7am-7pm, with most of the day spent in the outdoors, regardless of season/weather. Camp operates all year round (365 days a year) which means holidays and weekends are required. Please note, candidates interested in working for our higher hourly rate of $19.95/hour are expected to work 12 hour shifts.
The position entails lots of cleaning, extra services (trail hikes, toy/human affection time, treat/puzzle time, bathing, etc.), health check inspections, feeding, refreshing waters and bedding, and overall pack management/supervision.
- Dog experience, both personal or professional, will be prioritized.
- Must be graduated from High School. Students in High School will not be considered.
- Post Secondary Education within any animal care field is an asset.
- Farm experience is an asset.
- Candidates must live within 35 minutes of our location, with a reliable way to get to work as we are located in a rural area. Therefore, public transit is not an option.
- Must be capable of working outdoors in all weather.
- Must be motivated in work ethic- initiative is expected.
- Must be SUCCESSFUL at working in a team setting.
- A positive attitude is the number one priority that we consider in candidates/employees.
- Will need a sense of leadership and problem solving to guide the dogs in your care.
Applicants will be contacted via email and text with further information should their application be chosen for the next phase of the hiring process. Cover letters and professional communication will automatically increase your odds of being contacted.
