Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems.

Responsibilities

· Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.

· Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.

· maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and make minor purchases as required.

· Respond to requests from residents for minor repairs.

· Perform daily inspections on the building systems.

· Provide general assistance to skilled trade persons such as mechanics, electricians, carpenters, and plumbers.

· Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.

· Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.

· Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse.

· Empty trash cans and other waste containers

· Coordinate the preparation of housing units prior to the arrival of new residents.

· Ensure that security and safety measures are in place in the establishment.

· May move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.

· May supervise other workers.

Conduct inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests and communicating effectively with team members and clients.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for future reference.

Experience

Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong understanding of building systems, electrical systems, and mechanical principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting issues.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Previous experience in customer service is highly desirable, ensuring positive interactions with clients during maintenance visits.
