Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Pickering, ON
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8AM – 4 PM
Compensation Range: $21.00/hour
About the role:
The Machine Operator will oversee the automated production of pre-roll cannabis products. The Operators are responsible for the operation of the machines: filling of cannabis milled product in cones and inspecting the output of the products. This is a GPP processing environment, and experience with Good Production Practices (GPP) is required. The ideal candidate is a hard-working individual with mechanical aptitude, and is a strong team player, can work independently, The position is suited to those who are eager to learn, understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and demonstrate diligence in maintaining good documentation practices.
Responsibilities:

Operates and maintains automated pre-roll machines and equipment.

Meticulously performs and accurately documents all work as directed in the SOPs and Good Documentation Practice (GDP)

Manages inventory through inventory control systems, identifies any inventory issues or concerns and systematically reports them to the Production Supervisor/Automation Manager in a timely and efficient manner

Conducts quality monitoring of the machine output of pre-rolls are to specifications and consistency.

Performs calibration and maintenance on equipment and tools as needed

Troubleshoots problems/issues with automation equipment performance e.g., clogs, speed, alignment etc.

Proposing improvements to the process or machine as needed.

Prepares and ensures correct and adequate materials are available and fed properly into machines.

Reporting safety hazards within the work environment, ensuring machines operate as per designed.

Performs routine machine maintenance and efficient line changes (i.e., cleaning and inspection of parts), manage spare parts inventory and communicate additional needs to prevent interruptions.

Partners with Sanitation Team to ensure sanitation and cleanup of all processing areas throughout the day are completed

Strictly adheres to hygiene and health & safety guidelines as described by the Company’s SOP’s

Assist with training, education, and guidance of new staff, Safe Work Practices (SWP), Safe Job Procedures (SJP) and overall safety awareness
Job Requirements:

Previous experience running automated machines is required.

2 years experience in process, manufacturing and/or packaging systems

Experience working with GPP (Good production Practices) or GMP (good Manufacturing Practices)

Strong attention to detail, including the ability to detect quality defects and perform accurate counts and measurements

A reputation of being dependable and punctual

The ability to adhere to strict procedures and schedules

Strong teamwork skills, works well as a team member in a fast-paced environment

The ability to establish priorities, work quickly, accurately, and independently with minimal supervision; demonstrates self-motivation and initiative
