Full job description

Position: Senior Data Engineer (Azure Data Factory / Databricks)
Location: Oshawa, ON (Hybrid 3 days remote)
Structure: Contract 24 months to start
Pay: $85.00 - $95.00 p/h inc.

We have a great new opportunity to support one of our Energy Sector clients in a contract capacity!

Deliverables

Design, build, and support scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines, data lakehouse, and data warehouse solutions that provide trusted, business-ready data for analytics, reporting, and digital applications.
Develop and optimize data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and automation frameworks using Python, Spark, SQL, and Azure data services while ensuring data quality, lineage, security, and performance.
Collaborate with architects, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise data products, support reporting initiatives, and maintain data governance standards.
Provide production support, monitoring, testing, documentation, CI/CD integration, and continuous improvement of data platforms and pipelines within an Agile delivery environment.

Experience Required

5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer building and supporting enterprise-scale data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakehouse solutions.
Strong hands-on expertise with Python, PySpark, SparkSQL, and SQL for large-scale data processing, transformation, and pipeline development.
Experience with Microsoft Azure data technologies including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Power BI.
Solid understanding of data modeling, data governance, metadata management, data quality, security, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and role-based access controls.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related discipline, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
