Summary of Position:
AyA Kitchen Gallery is a growing kitchen and cabinetry company specializing in custom kitchen design, renovations, and cabinetry solutions. We are seeking a motivated and creative Kitchen/Cabinet Designer who can help clients bring their dream kitchens to life while driving sales and project success. You are innovative, creative and a team player who is able to lead by example in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You will be required to design and sell your own projects after a 3 month training period. We are looking for an experienced Kitchen/Cabinet Designer (with at least 5 years of experience in the GTA) with strong design, sales, and client relationship skills. This is a commission-based opportunity ideal for a self-driven professional who enjoys working directly with homeowners, builders, contractors, and renovation clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for generating sales, creating functional and beautiful kitchen/cabinet designs, and guiding clients through the design and purchasing process.
Responsibilities:
Support both the builder and retail sales teams.
Qualify new leads, building relationships and converting them to clients.
Work 1-3 showroom shifts per week to generate new leads. Hours range Monday-Saturday from 10am-6pm.
Achieve individual sales targets to support overall company objectives.
Work with Sr Designers to liaise with clients in order to develop design approaches that exceed expectations.
Draw and price kitchen/cabinet designs using our in-house software.
Measure customer homes.
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of 5 years professional experience in a kitchen design, interior design, renovation, or related environment.
Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Experience in a sales & design role is an asset.
Excellent design and conceptual skills as evidenced in personal portfolio.
Comfortable working in MS Office Suite with expert knowledge of MS Excel.
University Degree or College Diploma in Canada in Interior Design, Architecture or equivalent an asset.
Proficient in Cabinet Vision, 20/20, AutoCAD an asset
Soft Skills:
Exceptional organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
Very efficient in Microsoft Office, 20/20 and AutoCAD,
Passionate self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated effective deadline management, and project management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills required to communicate with a broad range of individuals including key members of design teams, various stakeholders and clientele.
Ability to analyze and interpret user requirements.
Solid design and conceptual skills.
Good at screening customers and understanding their budget requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to go onsite, measure and co-ordinate projects.
Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Valid Drivers License and Car Required to visit sites and deliver products.
Laptop that can run design software.
Cell phone with lots of storage to take pictures and communicate with team.
This job is located in Ajax, ON with frequent local travel (GTA) during working hours.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
