Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Skilled Co-Op/Development Student.

Job Overview

As a Skilled Trades Co-op Student at OPG, you’ll gain hands-on experience and develop valuable skills for your future career. You’ll work alongside colleagues from diverse backgrounds and contribute to projects that support a sustainable future.

This posting is for multiple co-op positions at Ontario Power Generation (OPG) starting in January 2027. Applicants will be reviewed and matched with OPG managers hiring students within their discipline. The job description and accountabilities below are broad and may not reflect the specific duties of each placement. Key Accountabilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project goals and deliverables.
Apply classroom knowledge to practical, hands-on work assignments.
Learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes relevant to the industry.
Assist with day-to-day tasks and ensure smooth operations within your assigned department.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled as a full-time, post-secondary student in a recognized institution, pursuing one of the following areas of study:
- Electrical
- Electronics Technician/Technologist
- Instrumentation & Control
- Mechanical
- Millwright
- Welding
- Other related disciplines
Have completed a minimum of 1st year in a college program by the start of the opportunity.
Returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term OR require the work term or co-op placement to graduate.
Have a minimum average of 70% cumulative GPA (transcript must be included in application).

Important Information

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods. Maintaining a high-performance culture and excellence is a core expectation of every member of our leadership team and is rewarded through the established compensation framework.
