Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Referee for Flag Football and become the heartbeat of exciting, fast-paced youth sports competitions! In this energetic role, you will be the key authority on the field, ensuring fair play, safety, and an enjoyable experience for all participants. Your enthusiasm, sharp judgment, and clear communication will help foster a positive sporting environment where players can thrive. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to stay active, develop leadership skills, and be part of a vibrant community event.

Duties

Enforce game rules consistently and fairly to maintain integrity of play during flag football matches
Make quick, confident decisions on fouls, penalties, and game flow to keep the game moving smoothly
Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and spectators to explain calls and ensure understanding
Monitor player conduct to promote sportsmanship and address any misconduct promptly
Manage game timing, scorekeeping, and record keeping accurately throughout each match
Ensure safety protocols are followed to prevent injuries and respond appropriately in case of incidents
Prepare for each game by checking equipment, field conditions, and ensuring all necessary materials are available

Experience

Previous experience officiating or refereeing in flag football or similar sports is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Strong knowledge of flag football rules and gameplay mechanics is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
Ability to remain impartial, fair, and respectful in high-energy situations
Comfortable standing for extended periods and moving swiftly across the field during games
Demonstrated commitment to safety and sportsmanship standards
