Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
We’re looking for a Commercial Field Adjuster, Property Large Loss to join our growing team!
Workplace: Telecommuting (some regions could be favored)
As a Commercial Field Adjuster on our Property Large Loss team, you will handle large and complex commercial property claims through all distribution channels. The types of losses may include Commercial Property, Energy, Equipment Breakdown, and additional Specialty Claims.
What you'll do here:

Manage, investigate, analyze, negotiate and resolve large and complex commercial property claims generally with exposures over $1M or involving specialized kind of loss

Engage and manage internal and external counsel, consultants, adjusters, accountants, appraisers and engineers to confirm coverage, determine liability and assess damages

Mentor, guide and provide technical advice to regional file handlers to ensure consistent and effective claims handling and support long term succession planning

Train colleagues on complex claims handling

Work with Underwriting, Loss Prevention and other stakeholders to identify potential risks, hazards and trends, sharing feedback and lessons learned

Provide brilliant customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues

Deliver all key performance indicators as it relates to loss development and loss adjustment expenses, claims leakage control and expense management

Leverage your expertise in a creative, continuous improvement environment to support a model of best practice operations

Effectively negotiate claims when appropriate

Attend settlement conferences and trials
What you bring to the table:

10+ years of experience with the direct handling of large and complex commercial property claims.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience, including conducting on-site investigations and assessing property damages.

Appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the position

Undergraduate Degree or CIP designation (asset)

Valid drivers license

Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
