Position Overview:
We are looking for an Intermediate Interior Designer/ Detailer with a passion for custom architectural millwork in commercial environments. The successful candidate will support the design and detailing of millwork solutions for office spaces, retail environments, hospitality venues, and institutional projects. This role requires a balance of creative vision, technical accuracy, and knowledge of commercial design standards and construction practices.
This is an on-site role and not eligible for remote work
Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with designers, architects, and project managers to translate commercial design concepts into detailed millwork drawings and presentations.
· Develop shop drawings for custom reception desks, feature walls, cabinetry, paneling, and other millwork elements, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
· Interpret architectural and interior design drawings to extract scope and integrate millwork elements seamlessly.
· Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal fabrication teams throughout the project lifecycle.
· Participate in design coordination meetings and resolve on-site issues as needed during fabrication and installation phases.
· Assist with quality control of shop drawings and documentation for approval and construction
Qualifications and Skills:
· 3–5 years of experience in commercial interior design and millwork detailing.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD is required, other 3D modeling software is a strong asset.
· Solid understanding of millwork fabrication processes, joinery, and commercial finish standards.
· Experience working on commercial interiors such as offices, retail spaces, lobbies, or hospitality venues.
· Strong knowledge of building codes, accessibility, and commercial fire-rating requirements.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
· Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
· Referenceable work experience is a priority, however, post-secondary education in Construction Management, Design or Architecture, or a related field would be beneficial.
· Relevant certification in Design or Detailing would be an asset.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
