Responsibilities

Document all experimental data in accordance with ALCOA (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, and Accurate) principles.

Independently perform HPLC, dissolution, and physical testing analyses following established analytical methods and standard operating procedures.

Utilize laboratory systems and software including Empower, NuGenesis, LIMS, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.

Perform basic troubleshooting activities to resolve system suitability failures.

Execute method validation protocols and conduct validation bench work.
-
Support excipient compatibility study (ECS) testing activities.
-
Identify, investigate, and promptly report unexpected or Out of Specification (OOS) results to laboratory supervisors.

Assist with laboratory investigations under the direction of senior team members.

Maintain laboratory compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
-
Promote and maintain a safe working environment, including adherence to laboratory 5S standards.

Identify and report potential workplace hazards.

Ensure testing activities are completed accurately and within established timelines.

Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory environment.

Perform rotating or alternating shift work when required.
Qualifications
-
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.

Previous experience in a science-related laboratory environment is preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Strong understanding of basic chemistry principles and laboratory equipment operation.

Knowledge of chromatographic separation techniques.

Experience with qualitative and quantitative chemical or microbiological analysis.

Awareness of quality assurance and regulatory requirements within the pharmaceutical industry.

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical procedures and government regulations.

Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to test reliability, variance analysis, and correlation techniques.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

Experience with laboratory systems such as Empower, NuGenesis, and LIMS is considered an asset.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in the English language.
