Position Overview
The Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) functions as part of a multidisciplinary Air Medical Crew, providing advanced clinical care during aeromedical transport operations.
Working alongside a Critical Care Nurse (RN) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), the ACP is responsible for rapid assessment, stabilization, intervention, and safe transport of patients of all age groups during inter-facility transfers.
Schedule
- Rotational: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
- Full-time fly-in/fly-out deployment

- Flights and accommodations fully arranged and paid

Key Responsibilities Clinical Care & Patient Management
- Lead clinical care for patients with complex or high-acuity conditions in remote and rural settings
- Triage medevac requests and provide clinical guidance to referring facilities
- Perform pre-flight and in-flight stabilization and ongoing patient management
- Collaborate with Online Medical Control (OLMC) throughout all phases of transport
- Apply ethical decision-making related to consent, capacity, and confidentiality
Communication & Coordination
- Coordinate with pilots, flight followers, dispatch, and clinical stakeholders
- Maintain clear and continuous communication throughout transport operations
- Ensure efficient execution of aeromedical missions
- Report directly to the Medical Program Manager as part of the clinical leadership structure
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation for all transports
- Maintain compliance with privacy legislation and organizational standards
- Ensure proper handling of patient records and medical reporting requirements
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation
- Diploma or degree in a health-related field, or equivalent combination of advanced paramedic training and experience meeting ACP-level competencies
Experience & Licensure
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic
- Current registration in good standing with a Canadian regulatory body
- Eligibility for registration in Manitoba
Required Certifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Asset Certifications
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Trauma certification (PHTLS or ITLS)
- Indigenous cultural awareness training
Mandatory Requirements (Air Medical Crew)
- Completion of company aeromedical training (CAMATA Level 1)
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Child Abuse Registry & Adult Abuse Registry checks
- Valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid Canadian Passport
- Fit to Fly medical clearance from a licensed Canadian physician
- Proof of required immunizations per company policy
