About the opportunity:
Best Way Stone is seeking a Yard Order Picker to join our Uxbridge location for the summer season. This contract position supports the day-to-day operations of the yard by preparing customer orders, loading materials, maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
Working as part of the Yard team, the Yard Order Picker plays an important role in supporting customers, contractors, drivers, and internal operations while helping ensure orders are prepared accurately and efficiently.
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma, current enrollment in a college or university program or equivalent combination or education and experience.
- Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, warehousing, landscaping, retail, customer service, general labour or a related environment is considered an asset.
- Experience loading and unloading materials is considered an asset.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 20lbs regularly and up to 50lbs occasionally, with regular pushing and pulling of materials.
- CSA-approved safety footwear.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and load customer orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Verify order accuracy prior to customer pickup or shipment.
- Assist with inventory control and yard organization activities.
- Support customer service by helping ensure a positive customer experience.
- Communicate order, inventory or operational concerns to appropriate team members.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the yard, equipment and work areas.
- Follow all health and safety requirements and safe work practices.
- Support additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Follow company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized and hazard-free work area.
- Work in a manner that protects the safety of employees, customers, contractors and visitors.
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses properly.
- Participate in required health and safety training and emergency procedures.
This is a seasonal contract position running through the end of August and is based at our Uxbridge location. Saturday shifts are part of the regular schedule. Shifts start at 7:00am and run until 4:00pm during the week, and until 12:00pm on Saturdays. Additional hours may be required based on business needs and seasonal demands.
This position is for a seasonal position that is filled annually to support peak season operations.
