POSITION OVERVIEW
As an Assistant General Manager, you are the steady hand behind the scenes and the warm presence on the floor. You help bring the room to life where thoughtful food leads, beer elevates, and every guest feels like they belong.
Working alongside, and reporting to the General Manager, you balance people, product, and performance. You lead with intention, coach with care, and keep standards high without ever losing the human touch. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, food-first environment and knows how to turn great service into a consistently memorable experience.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant, brewery, or hospitality environment
- Strong understanding of food-led service, pacing, and the interplay between kitchen and front-of-house execution
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams—comfortable giving real-time feedback that is clear, constructive, and actionable
- Experience with POS systems (LightSpeed or similar) and reservation platforms (OpenTable or similar) is an asset
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
- Solid understanding of labour management, including scheduling to business levels and controlling labour %
- Ability to read and act on key metrics (sales trends, cost of goods, productivity, guest feedback)
- Experience supporting inventory processes, ordering, and waste reduction strategies
- Confident communicator who can flex between coaching, directing, and supporting depending on the moment
- Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to handle team or guest challenges with composure and good judgment
- Ability to build trust quickly with both hourly teams and senior leadership
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail across service, cleanliness, and operational standards
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities without losing consistency
- Naturally tuned into guest experience and the ability to anticipate needs and elevates moments without being prompted
- Passion for food, beverage, and hospitality that shows up in how you lead and coach others
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead by example on the floor remaining present, engaged, and setting the tone for service and hospitality
- Coach, develop, and motivate a team of supervisors and hourly staff to deliver consistent, elevated experiences
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training with a focus on building a strong, values-aligned team
- Foster an inclusive, positive culture where people feel supported, accountable, and proud of their work
- Step into leadership coverage as needed, acting as the GM in their absence
- Maintain a high standard of service execution that reflects a chef-led, food-first concept
- Actively manage the floor anticipating needs, resolving issues, and elevating the guest experience in real time
- Build genuine guest connections and handle escalations with professionalism and care
- Ensure the environment feels warm, energetic, and intentional at all times
- Oversee daily operations across front of house, ensuring smooth, efficient service flow
- Partner with the kitchen leadership team to ensure alignment between food and service execution
- Maintain strong knowledge of menus, features, and beer offerings to support team education and upselling
- Ensure all systems, standards, and procedures are consistently followed
- Support the GM in achieving key business metrics including labour, cost of goods, and overall profitability
- Assist with scheduling, forecasting, and managing labour to meet business demands
- Monitor sales trends and contribute to strategies that drive revenue and guest engagement
- Support inventory processes and cost controls across food and beverage
- Ensure all health, safety, and liquor regulations are consistently upheld
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness across all areas of the business
- Support audits, reporting, and adherence to company policies and standards
- Support training and onboarding of new team members as needed

Pay: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
