About Us

Peaskie Minerals is a premier supplier of domestically sourced proppants and silica flour to the West Central Sedimentary Basin (WCSB). Our transload facility is located in the town of Edson, Alberta.

Please note this is NOT a camp position. Candidates must live in the area or be willing to commute.

Position: Plant/Scale House Operator

Terms of Employment: Temporary

Rate: $27.68/hourly – $29.38/hourly, Overtime after 8 hours per day

Schedule: 6 on 3 off Days and Nights - 6:00am-3:30pm, 2:30pm-12:00am

Duties & Responsibilities

Determine content of material entering the facility
Operate various types of equipment (skid steers, man lifts, front-end loader) and provide general maintenance as required
Verify product type prior to offloading
Provide snow/sand removal of truck scale and outside areas
Must be willing to climb bins and elevator towers as required
Completes regular routine facility checks and upkeep, “such as bearing greasing”
Greet and direct customers and other traffic, answer questions accurately
Responsible for receiving incoming inventory into appropriate bin
Ensure that incoming loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material
Answer the telephone and provide general information to callers
Provide general upkeep of the Scalehouse
Perform required data entry and customer service responsibilities
Operates control system to load sand into outgoing trucks
Document material leaving the facility using the plant scale and computer system
Completes regular routine facility checks and upkeep, “such as bearing greasing”
Keep immediate Team Lead fully informed of all issues or matters requiring their attention
Work all assigned shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time
Participate in all required company meetings
Other duties as assigned

Education & Training

Valid Class 5 Drivers’ License
A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and database management
Must be 18 years of age or older

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in a front-facing customer service focused position
Minimum 2 years of experience in office administration
A background in facility preventative maintenance would be considered an asset.
Experience in a construction and/or manufacturing environment is considered an asset
Demonstrates general mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical related issues
