Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Scheduler to join our team at Fleet Canada Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in production planning, ERP systems, and cross-functional coordination to help ensure on-time delivery to customers.
As a Production Scheduler, you will be responsible for planning and maintaining production schedules, releasing work to the shop floor, and supporting the flow of materials and jobs through the manufacturing process. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities, maintain data accuracy, and work closely with departments such as contracts, engineering, purchasing, and production to resolve scheduling challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of production schedules and milestones for products to be manufactured.
- Update job required dates and part parameters based on customer inputs, sales orders, engineering changes, completed shipments, and other production-related updates.
- Release jobs to the shop floor on time, using acceptable release time fences, batch sizes, lead times, and delivery dates.
- Coordinate various order releases, including normal releases, split orders, replacements, and rework orders.
- Maintain ERP system data integrity by updating records accurately and seeking clarification when needed.
- Identify and help resolve scheduling-related issues involving engineering changes, resource planning, and part scheduling parameters.
- Work with materials, production control, and purchasing to address and resolve scheduling concerns as they arise.
- Provide visibility to other departments regarding release backlogs and performance to the master schedule.
- Facilitate rejection reports by performing pick-ups, splitting cards, making quantity changes, and issuing rework cards when required.
- Monitor and correct scheduling system errors to ensure smooth production flow.
- Provide feedback to Manufacturing Management regarding workload, anticipated peaks and troughs, and the projected ability to meet production requirements.
- Compile reports related to materials, tooling, shop orders, and program review data as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar production scheduling, planning, or manufacturing support role.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with ERP systems and intermediate Excel skills.
- CAPICS and/or PMAC designation or coursework is considered an asset.
- Ability to work within time constraints and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
