Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Investment Processing, Internal Bookkeeping Support, and Tax Preparation Associate to join our financial services team. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with investment portfolios, support internal accounting functions, and assist with tax preparation processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, technical accounting skills, and experience with various accounting software platforms. This position is integral to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the overall financial health of our organization.

Primary Responsibilities

Investment Support

Provide support in the administration and documentation of investment activities as required.
Coordinate the collection and organization of supporting documents related to investment activities, such as statements, trade confirmations, and tax slips.
Prepare summary reports of investment performance as requested, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery to relevant stakeholders.
Support compliance with regulatory requirements by ensuring all investment documentation is properly filed and accessible for compliance purposes.

Bookkeeping & Accounting Support

Assist with daily accounting operations, maintaining financial records and ensuring accuracy across transactions.
Utilize QuickBooks Online to record, reconcile, and organize financial data.
Support document management and filing systems for internal bookkeeping.
Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports and summaries for management review, ensuring all data is up-to-date and reflects the latest transactions.
Assist with the processing of accounts payable and receivable, monitor outstanding invoices, and follow up on discrepancies as needed.
Support the preparation and organization of documents required for internal corporate tax filings at fiscal year end.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal bookkeeping procedures by identifying opportunities for streamlining workflows and enhancing accuracy.
Assist with monthly payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate calculation and submission of employee salaries and deductions using payroll software.

Tax Preparation (T1 Personal Filings)

Assist with tax preparation activities, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
Gather, organize, and verify supporting documents for tax returns, including receipts, statements, and relevant financial records.
Track deadlines for tax filings and ensure timely submission of all required forms and reports.
Review tax-related correspondence and assist in responding to inquiries from tax authorities as needed.
Handle confidential financial information with care and discretion.

Team & Process Support

Collaborate with team members to enhance the efficiency of internal financial processes.
Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and clients.

Qualifications

Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software is an asset
Experience with tax preparation, accounting, or financial administration is an asset
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable handling confidential financial information
Strong computer and document-management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
