Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Helper/Cook to join our dynamic culinary team! In this vital role, you will assist with food preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Your enthusiasm for cooking and food service will help create a welcoming environment for guests and support the smooth operation of our kitchen. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced food industry setting while working alongside passionate culinary professionals.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and organizing ingredients to streamline cooking processes
Support cooking activities by following recipes and instructions from head chefs or kitchen managers
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
Handle food safely by adhering to proper storage, handling, and hygiene practices in compliance with food safety regulations
Serve food to customers efficiently and courteously, ensuring high-quality presentation and service standards
Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying staff of low stock items
Support meal assembly during busy service hours to ensure timely delivery of orders

Employment Requirements

Experience:

Previous experience in food service or Indian restaurant environments is preferred
Familiarity with food handling procedures and safety standards in the food industry

Languages:

Fluency in English and Hindi is required to communicate effectively with guests and kitchen staff.

Core Skills:

Spice & Ingredient Familiarity: Comfort identifying common Indian spices, herbs, and prep techniques.
Prep Efficiency: Strong knife skills for high-volume aromatic chopping and batch preparation.
Teamwork and Shift: Clear communication and synergy with cooks in a fast-paced environment.
Enthusiasm for working as part of a team in a lively culinary environment
Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 40–50 lbs (e.g., bulk flour/rice bags)
Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
