Full job description

TF Warren Group is a premier custom paint and lining maintenance facility located in Brantford, Ontario. We are currently looking to fill a vacancy for a Rubber Liner trainee to join our team. This position WILL require travel, and the field work may be at locations outside of Ontario for extended periods of time of up to one month or more. Premium rates will apply for travel work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Line interior of tanks, valves, pipes and similar articles with rubber sheeting to prevent corrosion of vessel and to minimize contamination, shock, ignition, or explosion hazards to contents
Inject compressed air into vessel to bond lining to vessel walls and introduce live steam or place article in autoclave to vulcanize rubber lining
Prepare vessel for application of lining by sandblasting, scraping or painting interior surfaces
Understand specification for surface preparation, adhesive systems, lining compounds, testing and vulcanization process (atmospherically/pressure)
May test lining for holes and faulty seams, using device that creates spark on contact with metal vessel through apertures in rubber
Able to inspect and repair existing lining systems
Inspect primer application and perform repairs and prepare and fill out reports as required
Understand and read blueprints, production drawings and customer specifications
Maintain and use various hand and power tools
Compliant with health and safety and quality procedures
Other tasks as required

Essential Qualifications:

MUST be able to travel throughout Canada
Willing and able to work in Confined Spaces, including Railway Tank Cars
Experience with coatings and applications of adhesive systems for various lining compounds
Heavy Industry or Factory experience an asset
Attention to detail and willingness to take initiative
Positive "can-do" attitude, working both in a team and autonomously
Experience with surface preparation - blast cleaning, metal preparation, cleaning of substrate, knowledge of acceptable fabrication requirements
Must have strong communication skills, both verbally and written - English language required for this role

Physical Requirements:

Able to travel
Safety sensitive environment
Comfortable working in an industrial facility
Must be able to wear a Respirator as specified and other personal protective equipment as required
Able to climb a ladder and Work at Heights, and working in Confined Spaces is essential
Albe to lift/push up to 50 lbs
Ability to sit and/or stand continuously at workstation
