Shift: Day Shift (10:00am - 6:00pm)
Education Required: B.Sc. or 2-year Technician/ 3-year Technology Diploma in Chemistry or any scientific/engineering discipline
Other Requirements:
1) Laboratory experience an asset
2) Common sense
3) Organized
4) Ability to handle several tasks at once
5) Able to work with little supervision
Responsibilities:
1) Compliance with ALL safety procedures including MSDS review for all chemicals used
2) Documentation of all training at the time of training
3) Sample dissolution according to Quality Operating Procedures (QOP) or standard methods
4) May include gravimetric and titrimetric testing according to Quality Operating Procedures (QOP) or standard methods
5) Maintaining stock of consumables in ICP supply room
6) General chemical and reagent preparations according to Quality Control Procedures (QCP)
7) Maintenance and cleanliness of work area and fumehoods/equipment used
8) Filling out and maintaining required logs
9) Maintenance of sample storage areas including sample storage logs
10) Assist in ensuring turnaround time meets LIMS due dates, by working overtime when required/authorized
11) Assist in maintaining general departmental housekeeping
12) May be assigned to train new Sample Preparation Technicians and Laboratory Technicians in the ICP/Chemistry Dept., ensuring training is in Compliance with ALL safety procedures
13) Any other tasks as determined by Lab Manager/Process Owner
