Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated Dairy Farm Worker to join our team at Soestdale Holsteins Inc. in Hensall, Ontario, Canada. This role is vital in supporting our daily operations and maintaining the high standards of our farm. The Farm Worker will contribute to the care of our livestock and the upkeep of farm equipment.

Job Duties:

- Milking cows according to established farm procedures and schedules

- Preparing cows for milking, including cleaning and sanitizing udders

-Operating and maintaining milking equipment and parlour systems

-Monitoring animal health and reporting concerns such as illness or injury

-Cleaning and sanitizing the milking parlour and equipment after each milking

-Calving, ensuring calf health and feeding calves

-Assistance with machinery operation and maintenance

-Assisting with feeding, bedding, and general barn, outdoor and field maintenance and as required and all general farm duties

-Following all farm policies, biosecurity protocols, and health and safety procedures

-Working independently during assigned shifts and cooperatively with other farm workers

Job Requirements:

-Must be able to work full-time hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays

-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

-Ability to work as part of a team

-Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working in barn conditions

- Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year to 2 years of hands-on dairy farm experience. (Please provide any relevant reference letters with your application)

Work Environment:

- Fast-paced dairy farm setting

-Exposure to livestock, equipment, and varying weather conditions

Wage & Vacancies:

$20.00 per hour working full time with an average 50-60 hours per week.
