Cobble Beach is Georgian Bay’s Premier Waterfront Golf Resort Community located just 10 minutes north of Owen Sound, on the shores of Georgian Bay!

This prestigious community has been designed as a four-season resort, perfect for the ultimate golf getaway with a 10-room boutique style inn, 5 private cottages, the Sweetwater Restaurant, fully-equipped Spa and award-winning 18-hole golf course.

Job purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to support business growth. This position requires a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting software.

Duties and responsibilities

· Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

· Manage the payroll process, including payroll reconciliation and reporting.

· Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.

· Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely processing and collection of payments.

· Develop and monitor budgets, providing variance analysis and recommendations for cost control.

· Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks for efficient financial management.

· Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support operational decisions.

· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.

· Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.

Qualifications

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

· Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within a corporate finance environment.

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.

· Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Working conditions

· Full-Time

· Monday-Friday with the possibility of weekend work when required
