**MULTIPLE POSITIONS LOCATED THROUGHOUT NORTHERN ONTARIO (TIMMINS/KIRKLAND LAKE/MATACHEWAN)**

GMS Mine Repair & Maintenance is a leading provider of skilled trades and maintenance services to the mining industry across Canada. We work with a variety of mining operations and industrial clients, connecting experienced tradespeople with long-term opportunities throughout Northern Ontario.

Position Summary:

As an Underground Mobile Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of underground mobile mining equipment.

Successful candidates will have strong mechanical skills, a commitment to workplace safety, and experience working with heavy mobile equipment in an underground mining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on underground mobile mining equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related equipment systems.
Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with site procedures and manufacturer specifications.
Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and determine appropriate repair requirements.
Perform component replacements, rebuilds, and repairs as required.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before they result in equipment failure.
Work safely in accordance with site-specific procedures, company policies, and applicable legislation.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance teams, and other site personnel.
Participate in ongoing safety, training, and maintenance initiatives.

Qualifications:

3+ years of Heavy Duty Mechanic experience required.
Journeyman/Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification preferred.
Equivalent combination of experience and technical training may be considered.
Basic Underground Hard Rock Common Core preferred.
Previous underground mining experience is required.
Experience maintaining and repairing underground mobile mining equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a maintenance team.
Valid driver's license required.
Ability to pass all required site-specific training, medical, and pre-employment requirements.

Compensation: $75.00–$85.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications. Travel allowances and accommodations are provided for eligible site assignments, with a variety of rotation and scheduling opportunities available.

Schedule: Multiple schedules available (7/7, 14/14/, or 5/5/4) with 10 to 12-hour shifts.
