Full job description

The Front Desk Representative is a full-time, on-site role located at Days Inn by Wyndham in Leamington, ON. This role is responsible for greeting guests, handling check-in and check-out procedures, and answering inquiries in a professional and friendly manner. Day-to-day tasks include managing room reservations, processing payments, responding to phone calls and emails, and providing information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.

The Front Desk Representative also assists with resolving guest concerns, coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance, and ensuring that lobby and front desk areas remain orderly and welcoming. This position plays a key role in delivering a positive guest experience and supporting the overall operation of the hotel.

Role Description:

Welcome guests and provide efficient, professional check-in and check-out service; explain room amenities and assist with Wyndham Rewards enrollment.
Manage reservations, cancellations, modifications, group bookings, and guest inquiries by phone, email, and in person.
Process guest payments, post charges to accounts, and accurately balance and verify hotel records.
Provide information and recommendations regarding hotel services, local attractions, facilities, and activities.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest complaints, incidents, accidents, and service concerns, escalating issues to management when required.
Follow all hotel policies, procedures, service standards, and emergency protocols, including fire, medical, and safety procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and welcoming front desk, entrance, and lobby throughout the shift.
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, management, and other departments to support smooth hotel operations.
Assist with morning breakfast setup and other daily hotel duties as required.
Work independently, including managing overnight responsibilities, and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of hospitality experience OR a diploma/education in hospitality or hotel management.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests.
Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS) is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with a passion for delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
Calm, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Basic accounting and math skills, with strong attention to accuracy when handling payments and guest accounts.
Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Professional appearance and manner at all times.
First Aid, WHMIS/GHS, and Smart Serve certifications are an asset.

Must be available to work full-time, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
