As the dairy sector continues to move toward automation and precision farming, we are growing and seeking an Installation Technician with strong technical aptitude. Position Overview
This position will support various installation departments across Avonbank and assist with a wide range of projects and responsibilities as operational needs require, including but not limited to:
· Assist with the installation, setup, and commissioning of Lely robotic automatic milking systems and related dairy equipment throughout our serving area.
· Support a variety of installation, service, and project-based work across multiple areas of the business.
· Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, electronic, and software-related issues on-farm and within installed systems.
· Complete facility installations, equipment upgrades, retrofits, and integration projects on dairy farms.
· Assist with the assembly and installation of dairy stabling solutions and related equipment, including welding and fitting of steel and stainless-steel materials where required for specific projects.
· Participate in required technical and safety training to stay current with evolving products, equipment, and technologies.
· Work collaboratively with Avonbank team members, project teams, and dairy producers to ensure successful equipment setup, functionality, and customer satisfaction.
· Deliver high-quality workmanship and support in a fast-paced, hands-on agricultural environment.
Qualifications
· Strong understanding of electronics, PLCs, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
· Experience with mechanical systems, electronic controls, or automation is an asset
· Experience with Mig and Tig welding is considered an asset.
· Experience in welding food grade stainless steel considered an asset
· Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills
· Genuine interest in agriculture, dairy farming, robotics, or technical fieldwork
· Mechanical or ag-tech experience is an advantage, but we will fully train the right candidate
Compensation & Benefits
· Starting at $55,250 (based on experience and qualifications)
· Overtime opportunities when required
