Job Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Designer plays a key role in supporting the design and development of Macrodyne’s custom-engineered hydraulic presses and automated systems. Working under the direction of the Mechanical Engineering Supervisor and in collaboration with the Mechanical Design Lead, this role is responsible for creating precise 3D models and detailed drawings, conducting engineering calculations, and ensuring all designs meet safety, performance, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, innovative, and thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop detailed designs, assemblies, and drawings for custom hydraulic presses, press lines, and automation systems using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
· Perform engineering calculations and analyses, including material strength, speed, horsepower, temperature, and force evaluations.
· Review and interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and standards to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
· Ensure designs comply with safety and regulatory standards such as OSHA, CE, and customer-specific requirements.
· Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and maintain drawing documentation in accordance with project standards.
· Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments (fabrication, machining, electrical, and assembly) to ensure design intent and technical requirements are met.
· Support design reviews, project updates, and technical documentation for client deliverables.
· Provide technical input during manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting stages.
· Modify existing designs or develop new concepts based on feedback and project requirements.
· Maintain accurate and organized design records and participate in continuous improvement initiative
Qualifications
· Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Robotics & Automation Technology.
· Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience in custom machinery or automation systems.
· Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks (mandatory).
· Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
· Familiarity with electrical components (switches, load cells, sensors, etc.) and their integration into machine design.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; capable of collaborating across departments.
· Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
