Full job description

The Company

B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Civil Field Surveyor, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Lead Surveyor, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

Report to the Lead Surveyor and Civil Earthworks Supervisor to coordinate daily surveying priorities and activities;
Provide accurate cut/fill staking and layout support for civil earthworks operations;
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly as-built surveys to maintain current surfaces and support volume tracking;
Perform prism monitoring using total station equipment and install monitoring devices as required;
Ensure timely and accurate collection of survey data in accordance with monitoring schedules.
Maintain organized survey files and data systems and support Open Pit Survey activities as required.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Three (3) years of civil earthworks construction experience; open pit mining experience is an asset;
Post-secondary diploma in Geomatics Engineering Technology, Survey Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field;
Proficiency with Trimble Global Positioning System (GPS) systems and Total Station equipment; experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC) required; Deswik and AutoCAD considered assets; valid driver’s license required.
Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively, build effective cross-functional relationships, and perform in remote field conditions across varying weather environments.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $144,690.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $52.50 and overtime rate of $78.75) in a work year.

B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.
